Book-in-a-day

I received a message from KSPF reminding me that Book in a day starts from 1 April.

Anyone feeling like doing it this year? Any day but 21 July!

Once more with feeling...

It's the final gathering for this year.

2pm, Saturday 2nd December. Dome Café, James St. Northbridge.

Congratulations to everyone that has already crossed the line, best of luck to people (like myself) who are still slogging away at their word counts, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has signed up/ come along to gatherings/bashed a few words out/ made a donation to NaNoWriMo.

A couple of people have cancelled for the retreat, which is on next weekend, so I now have space for one or two more writers. If you'd been wishing you could come along, and regretting missing out, then now's your chance to join us!

I'll be there from 2pm Friday afternoon, with other writers arriving once they finish work on Friday, and we're checking out at noon on Sunday. 46 hours of undisturbed peace and quiet. No phones, no internet. Think how much you could write...

Hiya!  *waves*

I've made a pretty good start to my novel so far, the first two days I reached the target words, today I haven't so I will be frantically trying to catch up over the weekend and possibly get ahead.

I'm currently at 3874 words  :D

Like Bri, I've been struggling with the NaNo site, and it's eaten all of my correspondence with Mary, the DeKalb ML who contacted me. I've tracked down the DeKalb livejournal community, and you can find it here: http://community.livejournal.com/dekalb_wrimos/

Head on over there, check them out, maybe friend the community. The idea is that the DeKalb group and the Perth group engage in a little competitive word count boasting, wave some excerpts around, and generally connect long distance.

Post your word count and an excerpt to our lj, and say hello to the good people from Illinois.

Hi Mary and team!

I thought I'd kick things off here with an excerpt and word count.

I wrote the first day's words between midnight and 1am, at the write in, and yesterday's at a far saner pace.

Count at the beginning of day three: 3858

is anyone else finding the nano website slow to load, to the point of pages timing out?

The Municipal Liason for DeKalb, Illinois, USA, has contacted me, wanting to set up some kind of communication between our groups. I've suggested that her group start a local livejournal community, and that we all start posting our word counts and excerpts on the livejournals, and reading each others. Mary, the ML, also suggested we exchange photos and cards, which sounds like a fun thing to do. Perhaps at the next write in, people would be okay with me taking some photos.

So, do people feel like a burst of activity on this lj comm? Shall we have a daily brag session?
